This retrospective cohort tracked nearly 180,000 patients scanned with CT before age 22 in Great Britain between 1985 and 2002. It asked whether radiation from childhood CT scans raises the later risk of leukaemia and brain tumours. It is the first direct patient study of this question, rather than extrapolation from atomic bomb survivors.
